Are you ready for the ultimate party of the year? Brace yourself! This year, the urban music fiesta of Djakarta Warehouse Project celebrates its 10 years milestone in a most spectacular way : the epic fiesta this year will move from its original home in the capital
city of Jakarta to the idyllic island of Bali at the imposing venue that is the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. In addition, DWPX (10th Anniversary Edition) will be extended from the usual two days to three full days of electrifying music, from 7th to 9th December 2018.
The festival has come a long way since its inception in 2008, from originally underground raves, it has grown into the biggest dance festival in Asia, Organizer Ismaya Live has successfully transformed DWP into an international brand, placing Indonesia firmly on the international festival map, touting performances of some of the world’s top acts. Celebrating a decade of its journey and keeping up with its tradition of excellence, DWPX will feature a jaw-dropping line-up filled with the ‘hottest’ names in electronic music.
Kicking off the first wave of artists at DWPX is multi Grammy award-winning and platinum recording artist, The Weeknd, who steps onto the Indonesian stage for the first time at DWP. Next, making a triumphant return to Indonesia is godfather of trance and DJ, Mag’s #1 DJ four years in a row: Armin Van Buuren. He joins Swedish EDM sensation Alesso, who will send the crowd into a frenzy with chart-topping records. Also returning to DWP is French super producer and one of the most in demand acts currently on the circuit: DJ Snake, who layed claim on the most streamed song on Spotify, back in 2016 with ‘Lean On’.
Joining these heavyweights is Major LazerSoundsystem, the unstoppable three-piece band comprising Diplo, Jillionaire, and Walshy Fire. Spanning numerous genres including reggae, dancehall, house, and moombahton, their energetic set will keep the party going into the early hours at this year’s DWP. The ever enigmatic and always explosive Porter Robinson adds further to the already burgeoning top dance line-up, with trap royalty RL Grime.
With over 10 years of DJing experience under his belt and countless top ten hits, Dutch legend Afrojack will make a welcome return to Indonesia this December. He joins Billboard Music award-winning artist and one of the undisputed godfathers of trap, Baauer. Coming from the other side of the Atlantic is producer extraordinaire and multi-instrumentalist, Mura Masa. Alongside him is tropical house trailblazer, Lost Frequencies, and the brains behind the worldwide hit ‘This Girl’: Kungs. Flying the flag for trance are MarLo and OrjanNilsen who will add to DWPX’s lineup today. Last but by no means the least is Marshmello protégé Slushiiand rising future bass star Whethan, both will be looking to send DWPX’s crowd into a bass fuelled frenzy with their unique takes on EDM.
Over the years, DWP upholds one of the most consequential values that Indonesia possesses, namely diversity. A wide spectrum of sub-genres under the dance music category are given a platform through multiple stages in the festival. Completed with dramatic settings as well as spectacular lighting and multimedia features, this upbeat musical fiesta will indulge audiences with a wide range of dance music genres from electronic, house, progressive, techno, trance, drum and bass, to dubstep, and a whole lot more.
